Advantage Unlimited Training and Development for Social Inclusion
Advantage Unlimited is a small training consultancy specialising in personal development for people who are in some way disadvantaged. Their programmes enable participants to develop their communication and interpersonal skills and greatly increase their self confidence. This in turn helps them to become more independent and more integrated into the community in which they live. Sue Barker presenting the National Training Award to Val Goldberg and Di Beacom Val Goldberg and Di Beacom, the company's two trainers, have gained a National Training Award for their programme for people with Asperger Syndrome, 77 per cent of whom are now in employment. They have also worked with homeless women, teenage mothers and people with severe mental illness They have a person centred approach and design each course to meet the needs of that particular group. Training methods are participative, varied and fun and they create a safe environment in which all participants feel able to contribute.
They have worked closely with charities and can help to access funding if required.
